What can solar power do for you?

A solar energy system can operate in conjunction with utility power or in a stand-alone setting. Solar can be used to supplement existing energy sources, creating energy savings and increasing the lifespan of traditional sources such as water heaters. Solar can be used to heat water, heat air and produce electricity.

Solar Thermal

Heat is gained during the day by your solar array and is stored for use in insulated storage. Domestic hot water systems heat water for showers, washing and laundry. Radiant heating with infloor coils is a perfect application for solar hot water because it requires low water temperatures. Your pool or spa system can be heated comfortably with a solar thermal system for a majority of the year. An existing forced air unit can be converted to use solar heating with the use of an air handler and a priority controller.

Photovoltaic

The combination of photovoltaic panels, batteries and an inverter provide utility quality power. Systems can work in conjunction with a generator or utility power to provide emergency power. A grid intertie system allows you to sell power directly to the utility when you are producing excess power. The majority of solar electric systems installed have no batteries, reducing maintenance issues and increasing efficiency.

Passive Solar

Passive systems incorporate the design of your home to utilize the sun's power. The thermal mass, window area and solar orientation are used to harness energy by day for nighttime usage. Passive solar will create energy savings over the life of your home.
